Back in the formative days of auto insurance, the service was far more personalized. The insurance broker would ask you a range of questions relating to your own individual needs, and, if you were lucky, you would get a good deal depending on your needs and your relationship with your broker. Males under the age of 25 usually got a higher policy, and females, being perceived as less of a risk, would get a much lower premium.
